Preparing For The Fish Factory

Work on the site of the factory of New Zealand Sea Products Export Ltd at Port Nelson has been intensified lately. The pile framework of the wharf has been completed and a start has been made with the driving of the sheet metal which will form the seaward wall of the wharf. The factory building site itself has been consolidated in preparation for the erection of the building, expected to cost about £80,000. When the sheet metal piling has been driven, the framework will be removed and the area between the wall and the present shoreline filled with rubble.
