Showground Carnival

Highlight of the big carnival run by the Nelson A and P Association at Richmond was the big fireworks display. We've heard of the expression "money going up in smoke" and up in smoke it certainly went - several hundred pounds. No doubt about it, however, the display was wonderful. The "Great Train Robbery" also could have been an excellent feature, except that, without a climax, it flopped badly - an unfortunate finish for a project on which much time and effort had been lavished. But, overall, an excellent evening's entertainment.
