The Ballet

What a thrill the New Zealand Ballet and its principals, Marilyn Burr and Jean-Paul Comelin, gave their Nelson audience in the one performance given here. The second act of "Swan Lake" held the audience in rapture and the only regret was that it had to end. We went backstage before and during the performance to see something of the behind-the-scenes activity leading up to the performance. Two hours before the curtain was due to rise, the company was on stage limbering up in a work-out which lasted more than an hour.
