Nelson-Motueka Road Race

A new record time of 2hr 59 min 4 sec for the Motueka-Nelson inter-club harrier relay was established by a team from the Grey-mouth Harrier Club. Fourteen teams from many parts of the South Island contested this annual event and runners ran distances varying from about 2.9 miles to 5.9 miles. The Nelson A team which finished second, came in 9 minutes after the winners.
