Latest addition to commercial buildings in Halifax Street is this one, being erected for Armstrong and Springhalt. The building will serve as offices, showrooms and workshop. It is situated utmost opposite the Automobile Association rooms in Halifax Street.

What was quite an untidy area of ground to the south and west of the Sports Hall was beautified on Arbor Day in Nelson with the planting of shrubs and the erecting of a natural log fence. The background to this area, at low tide, is not a very picturesque one, and the plantings should certainly improve the riverbank.
