Doll Show

Mrs Muriel Hawker, of 374 Main Road, Stoke, is very interested in people and their way of life, and the 140 dolls she has reflect her interest. Recently she opened her home for a display of her hobby in aid of funds for the Stoke Kindergarten, and the £16 11s raised took the total she has earned for charities to over £200. And what a display it was! There were dolls of all shapes and sizes, in national costume or dresses of historical importance and all of brilliant hues. Mrs Hawker hand-made every costume herself and copied them with meticulous detail from actual photographs. As was to be expected, the kiddies had a wonderful time.
