Big night for the Avion Scout Troop, the air Scouts, when a scale replica of a Fokker Friendship aircraft presented to the troop by the Fokker Company arrived in Nelson and was handed over to the Scouts, The boys are hoping that this first model will be supplemented later by similar models of aircraft. The boys, with their acting assistant Scoutmaster, Mr Add Mulders (who once worked for Fokker and who approached the company), pose with the aircraft which was at first handed to troop leader Alex Wingham by District Commissioner of Scouts, Mr Colin Wiren, at right.

The garages of Transport Nelson Ltd in Haven Road are being sought by the Nelson City Council, which is negotiating for their purchase at the moment.
