Over Cover

During the first week of May, members of the Red Cross throughout the World commemorate the founding of their organisation by Henri Dunant, 102 years ago, Red Cross week was observed here in Nelson as elsewhere, and what better setting for a picture to commemorate the founding of this wonderful organisation than the soldiers' memorial on Church Hill? Posing with the Red Cross wreath are Susan George, Patricia Banham, and Elizabeth Thorn.

We've had a wonderful autumn and the colours throughout the province have lived up to their reputation. This shot was taken, as the Maitai River meanders through the Maitai Run.
