Anzac Day—50 Years Later

While some of the original Anzacs were reliving the landing on Gallipoli 50 years a-go with a pilgrimage to that historic peninsula, returned servicemen and the public in Nelson gathered to remember the fallen. This year Anzac Day fell on a Sunday and it appeared to us that the crowd attending the combined service at the church steps was not quite as large as other years, probably because of a clash of times with other normal Sunday services. The address was given by one of New Zealand's' distinguished soldiers, Brigadier T. C. Campbell, Commander of Southern Military District. Most of his remarks
