Life Saving Contest

Five teams from four Nelson colleges competed in the Royal Life Saving Society's annual rosebowl competition. Nelson College for Girls repeated last year's success to win the trophy. Sacred Heart College competed for the first time.

Interested bystanders were John Berry and Deonanan Oodit (Mauritius) and Middletone Ngwira (Malawi) who are in Nelson on Commonwealth physical education scholarships.
