New Keeler Launched

For Dr Peter Meffan and a big band of willing helpers, the climax of three years of intensive and painstaking work was reached on a Saturday morning last month when his 28ft keeler "Amitie" slid down the slipway to join Nelson's fleet of keelers. The boat was designed by famous British designer, Laurent Giles, and it has been built of kauri and mahogany. This was Dr Meffan's first venture into boat building but knowledgable friends helped him complete a really beautiful craft.
