Bishop Hulme-Moir Leaves Nelson

It was known when Bishop F. O. Hulme-Moir came to Nelson that his stay as Bishop of the Nelson diocese would not be a long one. He was here 10 years – years which passed all too rapidly. And then, one night last month, people of practically every denomination packed the Marsden Hall to bid farewell to a man who in his all-too-short stay in Nelson had devoted himself so wholeheartedly to the welfare of his diocese, both spiritually and temporally. May we add our tribute. In the four years in which we have been publishing "Photo News" in Nelson, not once did we ask a favour of Bishop Hulme-Moir that it was not granted. Not only that, but often he gave of time he could ill afford to ensure that our demands were thoroughly satisfied. Even on his last day in Nelson he went to tremendous lengths to gratify a request from us. For those favours, therefore, we extend our very grateful thanks and we would join with everyone else in Nelson in wishing him God's choicest blessings on his future work in Sydney.
