It would appear that many places in the South Island did not have the bountiful hay harvest experienced in Nelson this summer. Some places have experienced drought conditions and huge loads of hay have been freighted to them. This load, about to leave Kirbys, was bound, strangely enough, for Inangahua.

With his eyes blindfolded and to make doubly sure he couldn't see, a black coat held over his head, the Great Benyon gave an amazing exhibition of mental telepathy at the open-air concerts on the back beach. Here he names the playing card he has been given.
