Last year the Nelson Trotting Club introduced to its racing programme a series of races for maiden horses, the Nelson Maiden Stakes. The same series will be continued at the club's summer meeting in February when the two fine prizes shown here will be awarded to the winning horse. The trophy was donated by Mr Grange Waterson and the dress rug by Mr Bill Howman. Both will be won outright. •
