Spring Flower Show

A visitor to the Sports Hall last month during the Nelson Horticultural Society's spring show was quickly aware that spring had indeed arrived. The hall was ablaze with the colours of every variety of spring flower and the work that was put into the displays was much in evidence.

Mr Clarrie Andrews, Brightwater, with his champion daffodil bloom

A feature was a display of orchids by Mr E. A. Bradley of Stoke (they're worth 5s.6d a bloom).

The premier decorative award went to Mrs D. Delaney, with this entry.

First prize for narcissi decorative display went to A. W. Holz

This modern mass arrangement of Mrs R. A. Holmes won first prize
