When Greek Meets Samoan

If the Nelson Wrestling Association can continue to provide patrons with wrestlers of the capabilities of Clem Lakis (Greece) and Samoan champion Peter Anderson, the only problem it will have will be how to seat the crowds. The bout between these two was chock full of incident, with Lakis in the role of the lily white and Anderson as a big, bold, brown baddie and referee-baiter. It was this last trait that brought about his downfall in the seventh round. Objecting to the demands of referee Lee Powrie, Anderson came to grips with Lee and tore a hole in his shirt - thereby earning disqualification. At that stage each had gained a fall.
