The Leather Worker

Not so many years ago, Len Hall was a well-known figure at rodeos throughout New Zealand. Since going into semi-retirement, Len has retained his love of horses and all things pertaining to bronco and steer riding, and he's found an outlet in leather carving. In his beautifully-equipped workshop at his home at Mahana, he carves all manner of ornamental articles, from a rifle scabbard to a bill fold. We took these pictures of him at his patient work.

It will be appreciated!

His biggest job was the making of this saddle -with the exception of the tree, Len made and carved the whole saddle.
