Jazz Time

Jazz, say the teenagers of today, is strictly for the squares. Jazz has no beat -certainly can't compete with an electric guitar and amplifiers. As far as noise value goes, we must admit that this last statement has a lot of truth, but as for the rest, we but point to the concert of the Savage Club jazz orchestra. There was beat aplenty and the music was sweet and pleasant to the jazz-starved ear. Also at the concert were the Operatic Society members who sang several songs from the forthcoming production "The Merry Widow" and the Chas Hall combo, a smooth outfit.
