Girls With Talent
Twenty-six entrants in the talent quest sponsored by the Nelson College for Girls' Parent Teacher Association provided a wonderful evening's entertainment for a packed house in the boys' college assembly hall. Items ranged from a realistic mime from "Les Beatelles" to an operatic aria. The association raised £70 towards the cost of new amenities for the new assembly hall being built.
The winning group, "Les Beatelles": Eve Sharland, Jane McCullough, Jenny Burton and "Dimps" Haley
Third in the group section was the "Old Man River" group of Barbara Greenfield, Lyn Pammett, Mary-Anne Ralfe, Jean Reaney and Helen Moulder.
Alexia Russell won the individual section with her beautiful rendition of "Serenata".
