Apple Packing Titles

The 19th annual fruit show sponsored by the Mou-tere Hills Presbyterian Church at Mapua again drew a packed house to see the fastest packers in the district in operation and to view the champion boxes of apples. This year's packing contest was won by Lorna Paynter, Tasman, and Trevor Hulse exhibited the champion boxes of fruit (he walked off with four major awards). (Peter Cooper Studio).

A young boarder at Fell House agreed to demonstrate the new-type fire escape. This type, in an emergency, can be used by several people at the same time and minimises queueing problems.
