Until recently, when the perspective drawing of the completed cotton mill as reproduced on these pages was shown to members of the Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast League of Local Bodies delegates, the tremendous size of the mill which was to have been built here could not be truly gauged. Only six of the 19 bays planned had been built when the project was abandoned, Now, as we go to press, strong rumours are circulating in Nelson that the Standard-Triumph group will take over the mill. We sincerely hope this is correct. Probably, by the time this issue is on sale, a decision, one way or another, will have been made. If the rumours are correct, we could still, in the future, see a building as large as this, producing in Nelson.
