Cruising Club's Visit

Four vessels of the Mana Cruising Club, Wellington, sailed to Nelson and the Golden Bay area on a 10-day cruise last month. On board were 20 club members and they were joined in Nelson the next day by another 15 members, most of whom were wives. While in Nelson they were guests of the Nelson Aero Club which arranged a comprehensive programme of entertainment for them.

Getting aboard was something of a problem which increased as the weekend progressed.

Among the entertainments offered the guests was a parachute drop by Alex McQuibban (left) and Murray Smith, both members of the newly-formed Nelson Parachutists' Association. That's Alex at right about to complete his free fall jump.
