Charming Golfer

The United States woman professional golfer, Miss Marilynn Smith, made a great impression on Nelson golfers during a two-day coaching visit to the city last month. As well as a lecture delivered to enthusiasts, she conducted a coaching clinic and took part in an exhibition round with national amateur, John Durry, former New Zealand women's champion Susan Grigg and Nelson club champion, Peter McMahon. Her cheerful and free and easy manner and her extensive knowledge of golf delighted the large gallery that followed the exhibition match.
