"Miss Tahuna"

Capricious weather enforced a postponement of the "Miss Tahuna" contest this year, but a week later the sun shone long enough for the judging of this important holiday event to take place. For the first time in several years, good entries were received for the major contest and in the intermediate section the response was overwhelming.

Shy place-getters in the "Miss Teeny Weeny" contest were Heidi Hendra (right), first, Jillian Haycock and Judith Cross, both Nelson, second and third.

All the girls above were entrants in the "Miss Teenage" contest.

Musclemen competing for the "Mr Tahuna" award were: Ross Hollyman (Nelson), 2nd, Milton Norriss (Nel), Colin Somervell (Auckland), 3rd, Kevin O'Leary (Nelson), a former "Mr New Zealand", 1st, and E. Diserens (Nelson).
