Guy Fawkes Day

In the children's calendar, probably the best remembered date apart from Christmas Day is November 5, the day on which Guy Fawkes is remembered and thousands of pounds' worth of fireworks go up in smoke. Youngsters this year, and the older folk, had to contend with a rainy evening and this restricted celebrations somewhat, but before the rain set in too hard, everyone had fun with fireworks, especially at Hay's Corner where old tree stumps and trunks made a spectacular bonfire. It was here we took these pictures.
