New Church Hall For Stoke

Latest addition to the religious, social and cultural amenities at Stoke, is the new St Francis Church Hall which was opened by Archbishop T. P. McKeefry recently. The hall, which contains 6000 sq ft of floor space and was built at a cost of £11,000, is sited in Songer Street. Much of the building of the hall, which will also serve Stoke Catholics as a church, was built by voluntary labour. Folding doors seal off the sanctuary when the hall is required for social activities.
