The Stoke Tennis Club, which was reformed recently after being in recess for five years, is likely to make its mark in Nelson tennis in the future if the attendance and enthusiasm shown at the opening of the club recently are any indication.

Wherever one seems to go these days there is the sight of men digging up the roadways and footpaths. Many of these men are employed by the city electrical department and they're doing a job which is going to free large areas of the city proper from those unsightly overhead wires. Part of Trafalgar Street has already been done and the Council intends eventually to de-wire the remainder of Trafalgar Street and Bridge and Hardy Streets between Rutherford and Collingwood Streets.
