Hockey and Rugby at Trafalgar Park

The touring Australian hockey team proved too strong for Nelson when the two met at Trafalgar Park, The Australians, whose interceptions and positional play was outstanding, did most of the attacking, and it is to the credit of the Nelson defence that they were able to score only 3 goals. Nelson scored The match was played at Trafalgar Park as a curtain raiser to a Rugby match between Nelson and Canterbury Sub-unions. This experiment proved quite successful.
