Nelson's Crew Land Again

Since Mardi Gras in the Christinas holiday period little has been seen of Nelson's Crew, but they must have been around, for one sunny Saturday morning a boatload of beardy matelots, dressed in period rig, waded ashore at Tahunanui. They were met by a big crowd which later heard the crew spokesman (Hardy), promising the city, 'on behalf of Nelson Jaycees, to organise Mardi Gras in perpetuity.

Mayor Doug Strawbridge is introduced to each crew member, all of whom (Bronte, Collingwood, Bridge, St Vincent, Brougham and Vanguard) are names with which Nelsonians are very familiar.
