The Wedding of the Year

Since "Photo News" was first published way back in November, 1960, we've printed a few wedding groups, but never have we had anything like this. The gorgeous (?) gala above form the bridal group of what has been undoubtedly the most bizarre wedding of the year. Staged by the Old Folk, the mock wedding drew a full house at the Old Folks' Hall and guests had a hilarious afternoon.

Bridal group, 1900 style, Melody Wolf (vegetable girl), Ellen Wood (chief matron), Grace MacAuley (poor groom), Vera Evans (a sorry bride), Paddy Ward (worst man) and Elsie King-Turner (page).

Among older members of the family present were Mesdames Louisa Haines (happy 88th birthday), Emma Blincoe and Kate Lester.
