He was made a presentation at a social, present at which (centre left) were Messrs Kevin Mulcahy (present commissioner who has been transferred to New Plymouth), Roy Herd (a former district commissioner in Nelson), Mrs A. H. Wadham (wife of a former commissioner in Nelson), Murray Hare, the new commissioner, and Arch Manning, who preceded Mr Mulcahy as commissioner here.
