New buildings seem to be popping up all over the town. On Hardy Street a new shopping and office block on the corner of Alma Street now occupies what once was a bare section (top) and excellent progress is being made with the new premises for the A.N.Z. Bank on the same street (above).

At the Post Office in Trafalgar Street work on the two-storey savings bank and engineers' office is forging ahead. Completion date is set for late next year.
