Where the Anzacs Were Born

×

To the present generation, the word Gallipoli does not hold the same meaning as it does for the men who landed at Anzac Cove on April 25, 1915 Those men, whose numbers are decreasing with the passage of time, will recall the blood and sweat, and the fear and hopelessness of the positions they were thrown into. This picture of the cove, taken about a week after the landings, will serve to remind them, and later generations, of the campaign at Gallipoli and of the birth of the Anzacs.
