When the Nelson Harbour Board builds its new slipway for coastal vessels at the site of the present slipway, it will instal a mammoth winch, taken from the old Arahura gold dredge. This cable drum is one of two among the winch equipment already arrived at Nelson, and standing alongside is Bob Neilson who once operated the winch on the dredge.
