A.T.C. Survival Course
Eighty A.T.C. Cadets from the Nelson Area spent a full weekend in the Wairoa Gorge recently on a survival course. Much of it was hard work, but there was also, according to reports, a lot of fun. Bad weather on the Sunday added to the realism. These pix of the course were taken by Flying Officer Rex Stiles.

Crossing the river by inflated dinghy is the best way of all, but when it gets away in the current, then it's all hands to the oars.
