Tahuna Hillside Strata Under Test

To give a clearer picture of the strata in the Tahuna. hillside around the area affected by slips last June, a 36 inch hole, cased in steel, has been bored on the hillside. Down it, at regular intervale, consultant to the city council, Dr B. H. Falconer, descends and returns with samples. When we took these pix the hole was down to 77ft. It was hoped to bore to 100ft.
