When he was a child, Tom Seddon used to lie on his parents' bed and look at a bronze plaque of a deer on the bed-head. When his father, the famed Richard John Seddon was elected Prime Minister in 1893, the farm (near Hokitika) and its contents were sold. Now, 70 years later, Mr Tom Seddon, has the plaque. It was presented to him when he visited Nelson recently as chairman of the War Pensions Board. It was in the possession of Mr Bob Neilson, a former West Coaster now living in Nelson.

Last issue we printed the two photographs seen here, but for some reason we haven't yet accounted for, said that they were of the diamond wedding of Mr and Mrs T. B. Winter, of 18 Elliott Street, We boobed. The occasion was the diamond wedding' of Mr and Mrs T. French, 53 Tasman Street. The couple's own family is at left and the whole family, including grand-children and great-grand children, below.
