The Duke Visits Anakiwa

While the Queen was on her way from Nelson to Blenheim, the Duke of Edinburgh flew to the Cobham Outward Bound School at Anakiwa and saw the fourth intake of boys at work. The Duke, who. is patron of the Outward Bound movement, spent an hour at Anakiwa before flying to Woodbourne and thence to Blenheim. All pix on these two pages were by Peter Cooper.

While the boys did amazing things overhead, the Duke looked on with quiet amusement ("You need a parachute up there", he said).
