Award for Service

Long service and service awards were presented to Richmond Volunteer Fire Brigade members at the brigade's annual dinner. Premier award, a gold star for 25 years' service, was made to secretary George MacGregor. In this time 838 parades were called and George attended 765 of them.

These firemen, members of the Richmond Brigade, won the Nelson- Marlborough association championship last year and went to Auckland on February 26 to represent the district at the national championships - from left: Peter Biggs, Maurie Hunter, Gerald Holland, Noel Schwaas, and Eddie Lammis.
