Farewell.
The Rev. Father S. Flynn, assistant in the Catholic parish of Richmond, has been transferred to Stratford, He was bidden farewell at a social gathering of parishioners and presented with a gift by the parish priest, Rev. Father M. Bradford.

Welcomed.
Nelson local body representatives were quickly on the scene to welcome United States tanker, Tombigbee, when she berthed at McGlashen Quay. The vessel's captain, Lieutenant R. H. McSweeny, is seen here with the Mayor (Mr Doug Strawbridge, chairman of Harbour Board (Mr G. R. McKellar), board secretary (Mr Bill Parr), town clerk (Mr Bill McCullough) and Commander A. K. Griffith, naval liaison officer.
