Book Week in Nelson
Mainly through the efforts of Miss S. Morgan, of the Nelson Country Library Service, "Book Week" in Nelson departed radically from the accepted and usual project. Miss Morgan organised a "book project week" in which projects, school and individual, were based on books the children borrowed from the library during the year. It was the first such project held in New Zealand and was an outstanding success.

The only criticism that could be voiced, was of the apathetical approach of teachers and many parents towards the exhibition. Only a mere handful of teachers was present for the opening, and very few parents showed any interest in an exhibition designed to aid the education of their children.
