Jaycee members hard at work on the property of Mr Noel Dobbs, Campbell Street, lucky winner of the Jaycees' 40 man-hours raffle. And it couldn't have come at a better time. Noel has been transferred to Christchurch and his house is on the market. Jaycees prettied it up quite a bit.

The last of the rubble that once formed the posties' work room at the Chief Post Office is carted away. The building, an old American task force building erected 17 years ago, will be replaced by a new two-storey building, tenders for which will be called shortly. The ground floor of this new building will be occupied by the savings bank.
