When Y. M. C. A, gymnastic awards were made recently, one could not be presented because its recipient, Helen Booker, was in hospital. But Helen was not to be disappointed, for Mr and Mrs K. R. Gay took the award, an incentive one, to the hospital, where Mrs Gay pinned it on a surprised Helen. At left, Mrs O. Booker.

The old weighbridge that served Nelson on the Haven Road for close on 50 years became redundant with the installation at Transport Nelson of a modern machine. The City Council sold the old unit to the Forest Service and it will be used at Golden Downs to weigh logs. Here Forest Service personnel are finishing off the removal work.
