Googie Withers Visits Nelson
There was a lot doing in the theatrical world during the month, not the least important being the visit to Nelson of well-known actress Googie withere, in the play "The Constant Wife". At top left she is seen with Clement McCallin, leading man, and at right with husband John Mc-Callum and daughter Joanna.

High seas crashed over the seawall and on to Rocks Road during storms at the beginning of the month.

Geoff Haase, well-known Nelson sportsman, went to sea six months ago and has already risen from 12th to 7th engineer on the M. V. Wairangi, an overseas vessel. He returned home on leave recently.
