The Nelson Photo News

2

A Note for "First-Issue" Readers....

This is the first regular issue of "Nelson Photo News", the fourth in a chain which was born in the South Island, moved to the North Island, and has now returned to "The Mainland". For the guidance of readers, may we be permitted to make just three suggestions based on our experience in other cities where "Photo News" has been firmly established for some time.

(1) Our experience in these places indicates that many people allow the first issue or two to be destroyed, which is regretted later. A great many subscribers grow to value the pictorial record of community life which we assemble and publish in convenient form each month, and prefer to keep a complete set on their library shelves. As the years pass, the early copies provide a wealth of interest in retrospect. So....don't throw your "Photo News" away.

(2) For others, the value of "Photo News" (after it has been read at home) lies in the convenience with which it can be posted away to interested readers elsewhere. Thousands of copies travel through the mails to other parts of New Zealand and overseas....to sons and daughters away from home, to relatives and friends exiled to other parts of the country, or to overseas trippers who like to keep in touch with what is going on in the home town.

(3) So that we can give you the best coverage possible of local happenings, please do not hesitate to telephone (our number is 4757) if you see something unusual which would make an interesting picture, or if you would like our photographer to attend a function or ceremony which should be included in the magazine.
