New School Traffic Trainer

For Golden Bay-Motueka District.

×

For more than 600 man-hours, members of the Motueka Jaycee laboured to give the school children in their district the means of preventing road accidents and loss of life and injury. The result of their labours, a fully-equipped traffic trainer valued at about £6O0, was handed over to the Nelson Education Board at the Parklands School last month. A heavy downpour before the ceremony stopped in time to allow the children to demonstrate the tremendous value of this aid to better road manners. Much of the equipment was donated by firms and individuals.

These pictures show the trainer in operation. All the rules of the road were rigidly observed and there could have been few of the adults present who did not learn something.
