The Monaco Boat Club believes it has made water ski-ing history by being the first club to build and launch its own ski jump. The jump was officially opened during Labour weekend before a large crowd There was plenty of excitement and some glorious spills.
Many photographs were taken but the shot of the weekend was that taken by club member Geoff Tuffnell (above). He caught Mrs John Field as she took a voluntary dive. Her tow rope caught as she took the jump and she wisely let go. For a split second she teetered on the edge, then decided to jump, leaving her skis balanced on the edge of the ramp.
