Vice-Regal Visit to Waimea College

In the two days in which he was in Nelson, the Governor-General, Lord Cobham, was a very busy man. His first appointment was a visit to Waimea College.

After being welcomed by the principal, Dr F. E. Gallas, Lord Cobham addressed the pupils, had afternoon tea with the staff and then indulged in his favourite pastime—talking cricket with the professional, L.Town-send. The pair had previously met on the playing fields of England.
