Boys travelling up Tukuka Street one Saturday had every right to stop and stare, for this house, the property of Jack Auton, Jaycees president, had been done over very effectively by his comrades in arms. Jack, who recently married Joan Oram, was due back from his honeymoon that weekend, but unfortunately did not see the exterior of the house as we saw it for heavy rain in the afternoon obliterated most of the Jaycees' handiwork.
