The pathway to stardom is no easy one, as Pamela Westrupp, Kay Norris, and Maureen Gera will admit. These three girls, placed 3rd, 1st and 2nd respectively in the Miss Motueka bathing beauty contest, were being posed by Motueka photographer John Sharp when (at top) their surf canoe waffled and they went for a Burton. But they survived to give us this nice pose (below).
